Cecil Ray Powell, 76, of Baytown, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, in Houston.

Cecil was born March 7, 1941 in Houston, to parents; Barnie and Gladys Barclay Powell and has been a lifelong resident of the Baytown area.  He was a veteran of the US Army, a retired lineman from GTE, and a member of the Garth Road Church of Christ.  He also enjoyed bowling, reading, and wood working.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, and brother:  Richard Powell.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years:  Marguerite Park Powell, children:  Stewart Powell, Curtis Powell, Debra Jones and husband Allen, Christa Powell, and Michael Powell and fiancé Nancy, stepchildren:  Ann Bray and Thomas Parker and wife Margie, sister:  Janice Dauphin, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren along with other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2017, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Cedarcrest Cemetery in Baytown.
