What a shock for me to learn of Ken's passing. I installed several landscapes back in the day for Ken. Met him when he was a bus driver for GCCISD and he'd drop off my daughter at our home on Barkaloo.. Super human being and outstanding disciple for our Lord. Truly a man who put others needs above his own. Hadn't seen him since a trip to Home Depot a year or so ago. Still in those overalls. With that big old grin! Rest well my friend. I'll forever remember your words. May the Holy Spirit give you all comfort and instill those wonderful memories until you meet again.

I know Ken will be deeply missed especially as the days pass and the reality sets in. I pray that your grief will be short. We all know Ken is with his best friend Jesus, and he would not come back here if he could, however we know we will all be reunited with our love ones someday. When we celebrate a love one going home it just puts our own longing to be with the Father just a little bit deeper. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family and friends right now. May God bless and comfort each of you.

Dear Neighbors we grew up next door on Upland Dr. Kenneth was always into his cars and he was older that Elaine and I we knew him to be the always busy with some projects as he grew up and later got married and moved away. Edna said he would always come tell her what he was doing next door and he and Johnny Wiggins were our older guys we little kids looked up to. He left a legacy of knowledge for his family both in his spiritual actions and in his love for his cars. You Sylvia, Linda, Elaine, James are in my prayers as you think of all the memories. You have had of a wonderful son and brother and for his sons and wife you can be proud of Kenneth Farris as your dad and husband. Blessings to all of you, I am sure there is a reunion in Heaven when Pat got to welcome Kenneth home.

Dear Penny,
May the Lord comfort your heart at this time of loss. It is wonderful to read how your husband loved and served Jesus. What an example for us all to follow.
If you have not read the book HEAVEN by Randy Alcorn, I highly recommend it. For those who know Jesus, the best is yet to come!
Love in Christ,
Marcia

Hi Chris and Lori,

Thank you so much!
I can't remember if you said you were going to be able to attend his Celebration of Life Service when we spoke earlier. The web site had it incorrect, it's now fixed, but it is Saturday at 10:00 at Maranatha Church. (The Visitation part was correct.)

Penney, Donna informed me of your loss. Sounds like he was a very good Christian so it should comfort you to know that he is with the Lord now. May that same Lord hold you close and comfort you at this time of sorrow.

So sorry for his loss. Your family in our prayers. I worked with Ken driving a schoolbus at Goose Creek. I can call him a friend. I was just wondering about him because I had not seen him around Baytown. I always would run into him somewhere. Last time I saw him was at Hartz with his new wife Penny. He was very proud of her.

Thank you! That must've been awhile ago if I was his new wife! (We've been married 8 years!) But Ken sure did love his fried chicken!

I'm not sure if you were planning on coming to the celebration but the web site is now correct, but originally had the wrong location. (The Celebration of Life Service is at Maranatha Church in Mont Belvieu Saturday at 10 a.m.)
