William Edward Dawson

William “Bill” E. Dawson, 47, of Baytown, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at his residence with family by his side.  Born in Bloomington, Illinois, McLean County, on January 23, 1974 to Lyle E. Dawson and Susan M. (Bailey) Ross.  

Bill was a graduate of Dickinson High School, studied Criminal Justice at College of the Mainland, attended Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology.  Bill has been a resident of Baytown for the past 12 years and was a truck driver by trade; he loved his work and enjoyed traveling.  

Bill was preceded in death by his father Lyle E. Dawson, stepson William “Bo” Buckley, and grandson Colton Rhodes.  He is survived by his wife Mary “Christie” (Maloney) Dawson, of 18 years; stepdaughter, Whitney Buckley and grandson Sebastian Allen of White Oak, WV; mother, Susan (Bailey) Ross of Wichita, KS; stepmother Barbara (Snedden) Dawson of Texas City, TX; sisters Danalee Ogg of Towanda, IL, Michelle (Melton) Melton of Paris, TX, Misty (Melton) Cunningham of Dickinson, TX; Chandra (Melton) Remmert of Dickinson, TX, and Elizabeth “Beth” (Ross) Bouslog of Wichita, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter.
