William D. “Cleve” Cleveland, 70, of Baytown, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019, in Baytown.
Bill was born June 23, 1949 in Baytown, to parents; Elijah A. and Gladys Ruth Thomas Cleveland, and has been a lifelong resident of Baytown. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, taught career technology at Pasadena High School for 40 years and was currently teaching at San Jacinto College. Mr. Cleveland was also a member of the Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge 321, former Baytown volunteer fireman and ems member where he received Firefighter of the Year two times. He also enjoyed robotics, being a Ham radio operator, reading Robert Heinlein novels, spending time with his grandbabies, and Star Trek. William was also a volunteer Ham radio operator at events, such as the Chevron Houston Marathon and Baytown Gator Ride.
Mr. Cleveland was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 26 years: Diana Florrow Cleveland, daughters: Jackie Valencia and husband Joe and Jordan Jamilosa and husband Nestor Martinez, Sr., grandchildren: Melanie Valencia, Makayla Martinez, Nestor Martinez Jr., numerous other relatives, and friends.
