Weston Michael Zucha, 24, of Baytown, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at the Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.
Weston was born August 18, 1994 in Baytown, to Parents; Chris and Dana Benton Zucha and has resided in Baytown throughout his life. He was a Crosby High School graduate of 2013 where he was in the National Honor Society and also a member of the CHS band, better known as “The Big Red Machine.” After high school, Weston attended Lee College and took classes pertaining to game design. He enjoyed attending Second Baytown for a large part of his life. While growing up, Weston played for the Challenger baseball league and was an avid bowler in the Max Bowl East youth league. He bowled for 10 years where he traveled and went to state multiple times. One of his greatest accomplishments was obtaining his driver’s license and being able to drive his Mustang. Weston also enjoyed hunting his entire life. He hunted in various places including many years as a guest at the Diamond R Ranch in Uvalde, TX. Computers were a large part of Weston’s life. He spent many hours playing, making YouTube videos, building computers and socializing with people from all over the world as “DaBlueWombat.”
Weston was born with a rare hereditary skin disorder known as recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, a painful disease which caused his skin to be very fragile. For the past 3 years he had an additional battle with squamous cell carcinoma. Despite his lifelong battle and continuous pain, Weston always maintained his sense of humor, optimism and compassion towards others.
Weston was preceded in death by his grandparents: David Weston and Willie Mae Benton. He is survived by his parents: Chris and Dana Benton Zucha, his grandparents: James Michael and Stephine Zucha, and grandmother: Hildred Benton, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends including his beloved pets, Hank, Opie, Holly, and Ricky Bobby. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2018 at Crespo and Jirrels funeral home. Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Second Baytown, with burial following.
