Victor R Martinez

Victor R. Martinez, 86, of Baytown, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, in Baytown.

Victor was born March 10, 1938, in Baytown, to parents; Antonio O. and Mary Munoz Martinez, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in Highlands for the past 24 years.  He was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee High School class of 1957, veteran of the US Marine Corps, and a retired supervisor from the City of Baytown Public Works.  Victor also attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, was a member of Knights of Columbus, and volunteered with numerous schools in the area. He also enjoyed carpentry, upholstery, drawing, softball, and will be remembered as a handyman.

Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his father and mother Antonio O. and Mary Muñoz Martinez, wife of 53 years:  Martha C. Rodriguez Martinez, sisters:  Norma Garcia and Alice Garcia, daughter-in-law:  Martha Martinez, brother-in-law:  Richard Garcia, and sister-in-law:  Janie Martinez.  He is survived by sons:  Juan Martinez and wife Rosie, Victor A. Martinez and wife Rebecca Thelen, Jeffrey Martinez and life partner Ray Hamm, and Daniel Martinez, his sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Dwayne Emmons, and brother Tony Martinez, grandchildren:  D.J. Martinez, Manny Martinez, Maria Martinez, Raymond Martinez, Briza Martinez, eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
