Ted VanDyke Griggs

Ted VanDyke Griggs, 75, passed away Monday, November 18, 2019, at his home in Highlands, Texas.

Ted was born November 13, 1944 in Orange, Texas to parents; Fred and Melva Lee Whaley Griggs. Ted was a former resident of Houston and has resided in Highlands for the past 30 years.  He was a veteran of the US Army, a retired route salesman, and member of St. Jude Catholic Church.  He also enjoyed wood working, watching sports, and spending time with his family.

Ted was preceded in death by his father:  Fred Griggs, mother:  Melva Lee Whaley Satterly, brothers:  James Griggs, John Griggs, Robert “R.B.” Griggs, and W. D. Griggs, and sister:  Elouise Sanders.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years:  Sharon Pesek Griggs, daughters:  Michelle Lammey and Kelly Griggs, son in law Alan Lammey, grandchildren:  Jazzmin Bullard, Jordan Bullard, Jonathan Lammey, Nicholas Lammey, Natalie Lammey, Justin Griggs, Kiley Griggs, and Julian Lammey, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial Mass services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Highlands with reception in the Parish Hall following Mass. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Highlands, Texas.
