Susan Diane "Susie" Barnes

Susan Diane “Susie” Barnes, 64, of Baytown, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at her Baytown residence.

Susie was born September 25, 1955 in Great Lakes, Illinois, to parents:  VH Barnes and Betty Lou Schoonover Barnes. As a former resident of Kingsville, Texas she had resided in Baytown for the past two years.  She was a graduate of Henrietta M. King High School, received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, and worked on her master’s degree at Baylor University.  Susie was a member of Retama Park Baptist Church in Kingsville for 53 years and recently moved her membership to Memorial Baptist of Baytown.  She also enjoyed geology, sewing, and cats.   Susie had a heartfelt commitment to teaching 2nd graders in Sunday School and directing crafts for Vacation Bible School.

Miss Barnes was preceded in death by her parents, sister:  Patty Hollers and husband:  Lou Hollers, nephew:  Cameron Redus.  She is survived by her sister:  Valerie Redus and husband Mickey, nephews:  Kris Redus, Everett Redus, Ethan Redus, William Redus, Samuel Hollers, Josh Hollers, Jonathan Hollers, Michael Hollers, and Benjamin Hollers, numerous other relatives, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Retama Park Baptist Church in Kingsville.
