Santiago Munguia

Santiago “Chago” Munguia, 67, of Baytown, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020, in Baytown.

Santiago was born July 25, 1953 in Valle Hermoso, Tamps, Mexico, to parents:  Carlos and Rumalda Medina Munguia, a former resident of Mexico, and has resided in Baytown for the past 44 years.  He was a former insulator for Brown and Root at Shell Oil and attended Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Santiago also enjoyed wood working, home projects, and barbecuing for his family.

Mr. Munguia was preceded in death by his parents, wife:  Hortencia “ChaCha” Munguia, brothers:  Luis Carlos Munguia and Rigoberto Munguia, and sister:  Gloria Munguia.  He is survived by daughters: Soila L. Luna-Solis and Gladys Munguia; son: Santiago Munguia Jr. and wife Nora, brothers:  Gumaro Munguia, Hugo Munguia, and Guadalupe Munguia, sisters:  Ernestina Chairez, Elvira Cortez, Juana Munguia, Nora Munguia, and Martha Colmenares, grandchildren: Refugio Solis III, Allyson Munguia-Munoz, Santiago Munguia III, Juan Martinez, Noah Munguia, Jaden Munguia, Jonathan Munguia, and Luke Matthew Munguia, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter.
