Roger Dale “Cowboy” Kay, 66, of Baytown, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, at his residence.
Cowboy was born March 10, 1952 in Geneva, Illinois, to Mr. & Mrs. Owen Kay. He was an overhead crane operator, truck driver for JB Hunt, and a skilled welder. Cowboy was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He had a great influence in rodeo, He was a lifetime member of the calf scramble committee, Baytown Rodeo Association and Houston Farm and Ranch Club. He also enjoyed riding his Harley, helping those in need at motorcycle rallies and poker runs, tooling leather, bass fishing, and water skiing.
Mr. Kay was preceded in death by his father and brother: Rodney Kay. He is survived by his son: Justin Kay and wife Amanda, mother, two sisters, grandchildren: Jordan Ortiz, Kye Garcia, and Kinsley Kay, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
