Richard Ray Schooley, 71, of Crosby, passed away peacefully Friday, May 4, 2018, at his home.
Richard was born August 30, 1946 in El Reno, Oklahoma, to parents; Edison and Verna Sharp Schooley. He was a graduate of the South Park High School in Beaumont, veteran of the US Air Force, member of First Baptist Church of Crosby, a former Beaumont police officer, and a retired conductor for Union Pacific Railroad. He also enjoyed collecting knives, the gun range, woodworking, and reading outdoors with the cats.
Mr. Schooley was preceded in death by his father: Edison Schooley and brother-in-law: Max Miller. He is survived by wife of 50 years: Beverly Schooley, daughter: Diane Van Meter, son: Jason Schooley, grandson: Taylor Schooley, mother: Verna Sharp Schooley, sister: Melva Miller, his loving companions: Oreo and Donut, as well as numerous other relatives, and friends.
Memorial graveside services are pending at the Houston National Cemetery.
