Raymond Duane Carter

Raymond Duane Carter, age 72, passed away peacefully at on September 3, 2021, after a short battle with cancer.

Duane, as he was known by all, was born in Decatur, Illinois on September 22, 1948, to Lester P. and Elaine F. Carter. After graduating high school, Duane married his high school sweetheart Sherry Cropper and enlisted in the US Navy, where he fought in the Vietnam War. Duane and his family moved to Texas in 1977. Duane hobbies included being an avid member of VFW Post 912, bowling, golfing and taking Cruises.

He is proceeded in death by his father and mother, two half-brothers Gary and Leroy Carter. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Sherry Carter. Two daughters, Crystal Fair and Amy Menard. Two grandchildren, Justin Fair and Kourtine Bollier. Four great grandchildren, Riley, Tyler, Brooklyn and Jason all of Baytown. Also, two half-brothers Bobby Carter and Jim Booker, both of Illinois. Cousin Sharna Babineaux of Bandera, as well as Crystal and Amy’s spouses, Scott Dagenhart and Robert Esparaza.

The family will plan and intimae gathering to celebrate Duane’s like at a later date, yet to be determined.
