Raul Silva, Sr., 73, of Baytown, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, in Houston.
Raul was born April 9, 1945 in Eagle Pass, to parents; Guadalupe and Antonia DeHoyos Silva. He was an operator in the petro-chemical industry, member of the VFW, and veteran of the US Navy with service during Vietnam. Mr. Silva was also a former police officer and firefighter for the City of Eagle Pass.
Mr. Silva was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter: Ashlee Silva. He is survived by his wife of fifty years Gloria Silva, children, Gloria Hall and husband David, Sr., Raul J. Silva, Jr. and wife Cynthia, Guadalupe Silva and wife Erika, , Jesse Silva and wife Debra, and Melissa Escalante and husband George; grandchildren, David Hall, Jr., Anna Hall, Sarah Hall, J. Silva, Isabella Silva, Zachary Silva, Gabriel Silva, Simeon Silva, Migual Castillo, Alyssia Silva, Diego Silva, Gabrielle Silva, Esmerelda Sanchez, Selena Escalante, and Gracie Escalante; great-grandchildren, Aubree Garcia, Maison Garcia, Kaitlyn Hall, Jaxson Mayon, and Bryce Mayon, as well as numerous other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory forever..
The family will receive friends for the graveside services held at Houston National Cemetery in Houston on Thursday 12, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Following the graveside service will be visitation from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Crespo and Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services.
