Placido Gomez, Jr.

Placido Gomez Jr., 66, of Baytown, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021, at his residence.

Placido was born October 8, 1954 in Lyford, TX to parents; Placido Sr. and Rebecca Cavazos Gomez, a former resident of San Perlita, TX and has resided in Baytown, TX for the past 45 years.  He was a graduate of San Perlita High School a general foreman in the petro-chemical industry, and a member of Iglesia Metodista San Marcos.  Placido also enjoyed working on his truck, hunting, fishing, and playing the loteria.

Mr. Gomez was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ernesto, Rafael, and Roberto Gomez and sister:  Ernestina Garcia.  He is survived by his wife: Emma Rivas Gomez, children: Angelica Sanabria and husband Gabriel, Emanuel Gomez and wife Peggy, and Julissa Plasencia and husband Jorge L., grandchildren:  Jonathan X. Sanabria and wife Katelyn, Adrian Sanabria, Sasha M. Sanabria, Emanuel Gomez Jr., Brianna Gomez, Placido Eli Gomez, Jorge A. Plasencia, Emaluisa Plasencia, Julie A. Plasencia, sisters: Hermina Leal and Amelia Ince, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with vigil at 6 p.m., Thursday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 19, 2021, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
