Paul Stephen McVady, 53, of Baytown passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, in Houston. He was born August 19, 1964, to William and Carol McVady in West Islip, New York. Mr. McVady attended Robert E. Lee High School and then worked as a millwright for over 20 years at Universal Plant Services.
He was a huge Astro’s fan and was an avid softball player. Mr. McVady loved music, especially classic rock. He loved his family more than anything else and was considered a “Mama’s Boy.” His close friends were very important to him and he kept them very close.
Mr. McVady is preceded in death by his father, William E. McVady; mother, Carol A. Nelson; step-father, Robert L. Nelson; and nephew, Branden A. Cooper. He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Warner and husband, Russell; grandsons, Lincoln and Bennett Warner; sisters, Lynn Olds and husband, Craig, and Christine O’Mealey; brother, William McVady and wife, Jennette; best friend, Cherine Coyer; nieces and nephews, Mikel Richardson, Allen Johnson III, Aiden Olds, Devin O’Mealey, Trevor O’Mealey; Colin O’Mealey, Megan McVady, Jessica Smith and Tommy Smith; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 14, 2018, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018, in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels, with Reverend Charles Swick officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Crest Cemetery in Baytown.
Honoring the family as pallbearers will be William McVady, Russell Warner, Tod Rosenbaum, Joseph Garcia, Tommy Gill and J. R. Gill.
