Nicholas “Nick” Campos, 84, of Baytown, was called home by The Lord, Friday, September 20, 2019, in Houston.
Nick was born December 6, 1934 in Baytown, to parents; Jesus and Refugia Campos Ramirez, and has resided in Baytown throughout his life. He was a custodian for Robert E. Lee High School, working primarily with coaches in the field house. Nick was also a member of Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas Alter Society. His love for family and life were remarkable. Nick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone. He enjoyed gardening, tending to his pet birds, and trips to the casino. He also loved sports, especially his Lee Ganders and the Houston Astros.
Mr. Campos was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Marcela Esquivel, and two nephews. He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Hortencia Campos, daughters: Maria Cortes and husband Juan, Rosa Bocardo and husband Raul, Lydia Ramirez and husband Steven, Teresa Barrientes and husband Jose, and Gloria Campos, sons: Victor Campos and wife Andrea and Miguel Campos and wife Maggie, 15 loving grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, three nieces, other relatives, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with rosary services at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2019, at the Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church at 1124 Beech St., Baytown, with interment following at Sterling-White Cemetery in Highlands.
