Nancy Jean Barker passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Baytown, Texas. She was born to parents Claude Neal and Elizabeth Barker in Nugulf, Texas and raised in Baytown. It is only fitting that Nancy received her angel wings on Veteran’s Day. No one loved America more than she did!
After high school and receiving her college degree from North Texas College in Denton, she started a very successful business in California where Nancy resided until she returned to Texas. Her last years, she was a Realtor in the New Braunfels area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sister-in-laws, Neal Barker, Moody and Jewett Barker, William and Velma Barker and Gene Branscome; and nephew Dennis Barker.
She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Betty and Joe Chandler and Dolly Branscome, sister-in-law, Nita Barker and many nieces, nephews and friends.
After relocating from New Braunfels to Baytown, three nieces, Vickye Watkins, Kathy Ward and Melissa Maley were, according to Nancy, “Her Angels” who became her caregivers and showered her with love and affection for which the family is eternally grateful. A special thank you to Swan Manor Assisted Living Facility.
She will be greatly missed! Donations may be sent to The Alzheimer’s Association. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
