Nadean Eunice Edmonds, 77, resident of Anahuac, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was born on November 18, 1942, in Beaumont, Texas to Everett and Eunice Wisby. Nadean graduated from High Island High School in 1960 and graduated college at Southwest Texas State University in 1963.
Nadean was the drum major at her High School in High Island. Nadean began her teaching career in 1963 and she taught at High Island, Pine Island, and Anahuac for over 30 years. Many of the students that she taught early in her career also had their children taught by Nadean. She enjoyed playing the piano and was the pianist for the 7th and 8th grade classes for many years at the First Baptist Church of Anahuac.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiled the grandchildren at every opportunity. Not sure we could ever count how many baseball games she watched between her sons and grandsons over the years. Nadean thoroughly enjoyed buying outfits and bows for her long awaited granddaughter. She also enjoyed raising cattle with Ronnie and the boys.
Nadean is preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Eunice Wisby, brother James Wisby, brother Tommy Wisby, and sister Sandra Wisby, husband Ronnie Edmonds, and son Mark Edmonds. She is survived by her son Ron Edmonds and wife Denise of Houston, son Ken Edmonds and wife Mignon of Anahuac, and son Chad Edmonds and wife Laurie of Anahuac. Grandchildren Colson and Corgan of Houston, Caleb, Cameron, Braedon, and Kirsten of Anahuac.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Anahuac from 1:30-3:00. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Anahuac ISD Memorial Scholarship Fund or MD Anderson Cancer Center in memory of Nadean Edmonds (www.gifts.mdanderson.org)
