Michael Duane Barrington

Michael Duane Barrington, 66, of Highlands, went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2018, while surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was born March 5, 1952 in Baytown, Texas to parents Lonnie and Lecerise Barrington. He grew up in Highlands, Texas and graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School. After graduating, he married his high school sweetheart, Brenda. The two settled down and decided to raise a family. First Holly came, then a short two years later they were blessed with Lonnie. Michael was the best father to his children and he was active in every aspect of their lives. The family took many trips together, some included fishing on the Sam Rayburn Lake, camping trips, and once an Alaskan cruise. Michael loved the natural beauty of this world and was a true outdoorsman. He was also an avid fisher and hunter. He was known to have a garden and make his own pickles. When he wasn’t spending time on his hobbies he was helping his grandchildren with their show animals, both Madison and Kyle. Michael was also an animal lover, from cows and chickens to dogs. He was also a great friend and neighbor, but he didn’t consider the neighbors to just be friends, they were extended family. Michael will be missed by all that knew him, but his memory will live on in their hearts.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by the love of his life for over 66 years, Brenda; daughter, Holly Steadham, and husband, Joel; son, Lonnie; Grandchildren, Madison and Kyle Steadham; special friends, Pat Watson, Travis Maybin, and Dan Moyer; Ol’ dogs, Sam, Chipper, and Bruits; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Sterling White Cemetery.
