Mary Margaret Lewis Thibodeaux was born September 24, 1931 in Opelousas Louisiana. She was the ninth of eleven children born to the union of the late Armond and Beaulah Sampay Lewis. On March 14 2019, Mary Margaret was call home at the age of 87.

In her early years she attended Holy Ghost Catholic School in Opelousas Louisiana where she was on the girls basketball team. Mary Margaret graduated Holy Ghost Catholic school in 1953. After moving to Houston Texas in 1953 Mary Margaret attended Texas Southern University in Houston Texas where she played on the women’s basketball team (she enjoyed telling people she was a starter and A pretty good basketball player) she was also a Texas Southern Tigerett where she perform doing halftime at the football games.  In 1956 Mary Margaret meet her husband Herman Thibodeaux they were married on June 23 1956 in the Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Houston Tx.  Mary Margaret was a 46-year member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Baytown Texas. Where she and her husband Herman served as ushers for the Sunday mornings mass. 

Mary Margaret became a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court 98 on November 21, 1982. Starting her first year as Assistant Counselor Jr Daughter and the following year she became the JR Daughter Counselor for 6 years. Mary went on to become Financial secretary, recording secretary, and even grand lady. Mary Margaret has been an active member of the KPC Ladies count 98 for over 37 years.   She was also one of the founding members of the Drexel Society in the Barrett Station Chapter established June 10, 1990 at St. Martin De Porres Catholic church in Barrett Texas. Where she was the chapters 1st president. She was also the recipient of the Elise LeNoire award.  She has always had a strong faith in God and kept God first and every part of her life. 

Mary Margaret was preceded in death by her baby daughter Jacqueline Ann Thibodeaux, her parents and her four sisters Mildred Briscoe, Dorothy Lewis Alexandria, Shirley Richards, Verdie Jones and her four brothers Walter Lewis, Preston Lewis, Leroy Lewis and Eriton J Lewis.  She leaves to cherish your memories her husband of 66 years Herman Thibodeaux and their six children Herman Thibodeaux Jr, Terrence Kirk Thibodeaux, D’Andrea (Ann)Thibodeaux-Woody, Michelle Thibodeaux-Paris, Angela Elaine Thibodeaux and Floyd James Thibodeaux.  As well as her two sisters Clarabelle Donatto, and Ruby Boutte.  Her most treasured time were spending time with her ten grandchildren Jackie Thibodeaux, Terrell Thibodeaux, Amber Paris-Thibodeaux Benard (Robert Benard Jr), Cerise Meloncon, Bianca Ardion, Jamie Woody, Terrence (Tee) Thibodeaux, Alexis Eason, Jalen Thibodeaux and Floyd (Lil Floyd) Thibodeaux, and her six Great grandchildren Mya Dorsey, Alyssa Palma, Elijah Morrow, Kayla Kilcrease, Parker Thibodeaux-Paris, Karter Benard. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
