Della “Marie” Hamm Arnett, 73, of Baytown, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at St. James House in Baytown.
Marie was born December 25, 1945 in Bodcaw, Arkansas, to parents; James M. and Bonnie Skinner Hamm. She and her late husband, Mike, attended Cedar Bayou Baptist Church until recent years when their health wouldn’t allow it. She was a wonderful homemaker and the greatest cook, especially her homemade soup and cherry pizza. She also enjoyed making her daughter’s clothing, selling Mary Kay, car club cruise nights, eating at Roosters with friends, and her special tradition with Randall to get books and cookies.
Mrs. Arnett was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 53 years: Michael Arnett, and brother: Billy Don Hamm. She is survived by her daughter: Kim Watson and husband Matt, sisters: Bobbie Jean Poindexter, Betty Jo McMillen, and Mary Lou Pittman, grandchildren: James Randall Arnett and special friend Carley Cates and Cody Watson, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter.
The family would like to thank St. James House and Harbor Hospice for their care given to Marie.
