Margaret A. “Peg” Canterbury Allen, 73, of Baytown, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, in Baytown, Texas.
Peg was born October 24, 1948 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to parents William A. Canterbury and Mary Ellen Stroup. She graduated from Gateway Senior High School in Monroeville, Pa.; shortly thereafter she and her family relocated to Baytown. Several years later she moved to Reno, NV where she received her medical assistant degree from Northern Nevada University, where she worked as a medical assistant. She and Bob then moved back to Texas to be closer to family and have resided in Baytown for the past 15 years. In her later years Peg took great pride in serving, mentoring and helping others.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents and her son William “Bill” Brown. She is survived by her husband and the light of her life for 27 years Robert “Bob” Allen; her son David Prugar and wife Charity of Sealy; her daughter Lanie Hewitt and husband Glenn of Katy; her daughter Dallas Masche and husband Joe of Baytown; her brother Chip Lacy and wife Melinda of Seabrook, and her sister Mamie Lacy of Baytown. She is also survived by her grandchildren Austen, Haley, Paighton, Abby and Riley, nephews Matthew King and Patrick Lacy, as well as several great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 27th at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 28th, 2022, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baytown, with services concluding thereafter.
