Lorene Prinzel Fox happily joined her Heavenly Father on September 19, 2019 at the age of 90. Her parents, Emma & August Prinzel were blessed with her birth in Waco, Texas on December 11, 1928.

In Heaven to welcome her home are her parents, husband and love of her life, John R. Fox, Sr., husband & wonderful companion Johney L. Harvey, brothers; Ervin Prinzel & Eugene Prinzel, sisters; Gladys May, Aline Pugh & Doris Dubcak.

Those left to love & cherish her memory are her children, daughter Denise Fox Johnson (Ray) of Corpus Christi, son John R. Fox (Barbara), of The Woodlands. Her awesome grandchildren who lovingly called her Mimi; Jason Johnson (Rachel) of Corpus Christi, Logan Johnson (Misty) of Corpus Christi, Dillon Johnson (Christy) of Little Rock, Jenna Batten (Doug) of College Station, Ty Fox of Houston, Alan Collins (Jessica) of The Woodlands & Stephanie Blaue (Mitchell) of Memphis.

Mimi was a fantastic & loving Great Grandmother to Halie Johnson, Lucy Johnson, Madison Johnson, Carson Johnson all of Corpus Christi & Paxton Credeur & Ryder Credeur of College Station, Hudson Blaue & Emily Blaue of Memphis & Jeri Dubcak of Austin.

Lorene leaves behind a sister, Mildred Mullins of Huntsville; a brother, Ray Earl Prinzel of Baytown & a sister-in-law, Shirley Prinzel of Baytown, as well as many nieces & nephews whom she adored.

A 1947 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, she was a member of the Lee Brigadiers & sang in the choir. She also attended Lee College. She married John R. Fox in 1950, & they were the first couple ever married at her newly built church, St. John’s United Methodist in Baytown. They were married 47 years before his death.

Lorene loved her church & her church family. She was a member for 81 years along with many members of her family. She served her church over the years in many different capacities.

The insurance industry was her professional calling in life where her customers followed her from agent to agent because of her wonderful personal care. After 54 years in the insurance agency, she retired from State Farm with agent & friend, Ken Mitchell.

She married again in 2004 to Johney L. Harvey. Together they served their church and community, helping in many different capacities. They were married for 9 years before his death in 2013.

Lorene loved to travel. All her life she visited all over the United States and Mexico. Many trips were with family throughout the years. From Disney to Alaska to Las Vegas to cruises, she loved and enjoyed every minute.

A life well lived would be how to describe this most kind & beautiful person. Her smile was genuine & if you were lucky enough to call her friend, she was your good friend for life. She never met a stranger as within 5 minutes of meeting her, she had already exchanged phone numbers with people & made plans to meet again.

After moving from her beautiful home in 2016, she joined many friends and moved to The Waterford of Baytown, an assisted living community where she loved movie nights and winning at Bingo.

Lorene, Mom, Mimi--whatever you called her, was a devoted wife, fun loving mother, who chaperoned all her kids trips in high school & a fantastic great grandmother who loved sending her great grandkids $2 bills and a loyal friend for life. This world is going to be a little dimmer with her not in it. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. We are sure going to miss her.

Her church was so important to her that she would love donations to be made in her name to St. John’s United Methodist Church.

A visitation for family and friends will be he held from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, on Sunday, September 22, 2019, in the Sanctuary at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 501 S. Alexander Drive, Baytown, TX 77520. A private burial will be held at a later date.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
