Linda "Loretta" West

Linda “Loretta” Porter West, 73, of Baytown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, in Houston.

Loretta was born February 7, 1949 in Houston, to parents; Earcel and Wanda Bush Porter, a native of Baytown, and had resided for short periods in Pennsylvania and New Mexico.  She was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee High School class of 1967, attended Lee College, and was a former teacher’s aide.  Loretta attended Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist Church.  She enjoyed dancing, cooking for others, crocheting and playing golf. 

Mrs. West was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, John West; children: Tim Hayes and wife Laura, Michael Hayes and wife Ann, Mathew West and wife Jeanette, James West and wife Laura, and Brandy West; brother:  Bruce Hood; grandchildren: Zach, Sarah, Forest, Corbin, Kaylee, Sage, Logan, and Joshua; great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and beloved friends.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) or a charity of their choice in Loretta’s name.  

Loretta’s Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
