Lester Munroe Main

Lester Munroe Main, born May 25, 1935 in Coos Bay, Oregon, passed away on July 28, 2020 in Baytown, Texas. 

Les was proceeded in death by his parents; Lorna and Floyd Dishner, his son; Melvin Main, his daughter; Brenda Meares, his sister; Marilyn Harris, his grandson; Chris Meares and most importantly; his beloved wife of 52 years; Betty, and grandfather:  grandfather, Lester Munroe Main. 

Les was raised in Oregon until enlisting in the United States Air Force. Les served in the United States Air Force during and after the Korean War. While in Texas he met and married the love of his life, Betty. 

At the ages of 15 and 19 they married on July 3, 1954 at the Galena Park Church of the Nazarene. After 8 years in the military, he worked various jobs supporting the Oil and Gas Industry until retirement. 

Les was the type of man that showed love and respect to everyone he met. With a kind soul, he was the epitome of humble and kind. He often tried to instill lessons in teaching others, especially his children and grandchildren how to be the best they could possibly be. He was not afraid to talk about his failures or his blessings in life if it could lead another down a better path. 

Les dedicated his life to his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was always willing to put the needs of others ahead of his own as no sacrifice was too heavy for him as long as those he sacrificed for knew he loved them. 

He is survived by his daughter Ella and her husband, James Borque of Baytown, TX, honorary Son; Loyd Grigsby of Baytown, TX, brothers; Elton and Elwin Dishner of the Oregon Coast, Grandchildren; Kendahl Main of San Antonio, Stephanie Aughinbaugh and husband; Nathan Hieber of League City, James Borque and fiancé Christy Deleon of Baytown, and Letitia Borque of Baytown. 

He leaves behind 13 Great Grand Children between Texas and California, Elizabeth, Kaitlynn, Austin, Madison, Brenden, Travis, Emily, Kristofer, Marley, AJ, Asher, Brently, and Elena as well as numerous relatives along the Oregon Coast.

Services will be as follows. Visitation at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home at 6123 Garth Rd Baytown Texas on Thursday, August 6th from 4pm until 8pm. Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 7th at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston, TX
