Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Dykes Sr.

Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Dykes Sr., 69, of Dickinson, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 13, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family. Kenny was born on December 8, 1949 in Tulare, California to parents Neil and Maxine Dykes.

Kenny was known as a very wonderful loving husband, father, and Poppy. As a father should be, he was the head of the household, Superman, in the eyes of his family. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with the boys and proudly taught them everything he knew. He also enjoyed watching sports such as the San Francisco 49ers, Raiders and sometimes the Astros. It all depended on who they were playing. He had a straightforward personality, and you could bet on him telling you like it was. Kenny was a fighter. No matter the challenge he didn’t let it bring him down, he was up for the challenge. He faced death numerous times in his life and was grateful for every time he pushed through. Kenny had a very giving heart and would help anyone in need. He loved taking trips to go gambling with his favorite cousin, BBQing, watching westerns, and hanging out with his dog, Chicka.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; and Sister, Dorothy Wilson. Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jackuline Dykes; Sons, Kenny Dykes Jr. And wife, Shannon, and Justin Dykes, and girlfriend, Yvette; grandson, Ryland Dykes; favorite cousin, Kathryn Johnson; and special pet, Chicka; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family is asking that in Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Baytown Humane Society in Kenny’s honor.

Kenny’s visitation will be on October 16, 2019 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services, 6123 Garth Rd. Baytown, Texas.
