Justin J. Wewer, 81, of Baytown, passed away after an 11 year battle with prostate cancer on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family.
Justin was born September 20, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri, to parents Justin Charles and Marie Kramer Wewer, and has resided in Baytown for the past 47 years. He was a graduate of Bishop DuBourge High School, received associate degrees from both Lee College and San Jacinto Community College, was a retired instrument technician, and former instructor of instrument technology at Lee College.
Mr. Wewer was ordained as a deacon over 40 years ago. He was a member of and deacon for St. John’s Evangelist Catholic Church and a member of The Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed visiting with and bringing holy communion to parishioners who were unable to attend mass. These visits and the friendships he made in service were extremely important to him.
Mr. Wewer was preceded in death by his beloved border collie, Pepe. He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Ann Marie Guidroz Wewer, children: Tony Wewer, Michelle Hardt and husband Mike, Eric Wewer, Ella-Marie Chambers and husband Mark, Zachary Wewer and wife Jilian, and Elizabeth Sanders and husband Kyle, 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Rosary services at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel and memorial graveside services at Houston National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
