Tribute

June Turner McLemore, 72, of Baytown, Texas, went home to her Lord and Savior on November 8, 2018.  She was born on May 18, 1946 in Patuxent River, Maryland, to parents John Junius and Hazel Ann Hix Turner.

June had a very giving spirit.  A teacher for thirty-seven years, she educated, inspired and motivated her students in the LaPorte I.S.D.  She and her husband opened their home and hearts to three foreign exchange students, Pablo Cuerno Diaz of Madrid, Spain, Luis Segundo de Miguel Pueyo of Malaga, Spain, and Diana Hadell of Gotenberg, Sweden.  June and Ron spent part of each summer visiting their "children" and their families, a tradition June continued until 2012.  Though she loved to help others, she preferred to be a silent and modest contributor for the most part.  June understood, better than some, what Paul meant when he said, "Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."   June was very active in the FFA Youth Fair in LaPorte and Baytown.  Encouraging and enriching our youth was important to her so she enjoyed buying animals "out of the barn."  Like her late husband, Ronald McLemore, she was a major advocate of the Baytown Police Department, and more recently, the K-9 Unit.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

June was preceded in death by her husband Ronald McLemore, parents John Junius and Hazel Ann Hix Turner.  She is survived by her sister Donna Turner Schulze and husband, David; brother-in-law Chester Curtis McLemore and wife, Delores; nephews Kenny Schulze and wife, Diane, and Michael Schulze; nieces Leslie Schulze Vastano and husband, James, Deanna Giles, Stacey McLemore Brooks, and Stephanie McLemore; great-nephews Evan Schulze, Justin Schulze, and Max Vastano; great-nieces Brynn Schulze and Ava Vastano; aunt Aurora Pearl Turner Fox; cousins TerrieAnn Hix Nee, Shelley Fox, and Suzanne Turner Lombardo, and many, many others too numerous to mention; foreign exchange students Pablo Cuerno Diaz, Luis Segundo de Miguel Pueyo, and Diana Hadell, fur baby Cici, and an army of friends who enriched and shared her life, and will miss her each and every day.

The family will welcome friends for a visitation on Saturdays, December 1, 2018, from 2:30 pm.-3:30 pm. at Crespo and Jirrels funeral home; Followed by a memorial service at 3:30 pm. in the chapel.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
