Julia Faye Carter

January 7, 1930 ~ June 8, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Julia (Judy) Faye Carter went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 8, 2017.

She was born on January 07, 1930 in Rosenberg, Texas. Her parents were James and Roxie Coleman. She was a member of Cedar Bayou Grace UMC and loved her home visits from Pastor Karen when she became ill.

She grew up in Crosby, Texas and graduated from Crosby High School.

Judy married Ernest William Lindstrom Jr. (“Swede”) and raised their two sons in Baytown. She was an immaculate homemaker and taught Sunday school for many years at St. John’s UMC.

Later, Judy worked at Harris County Savings and Loan in Baytown as an administrative assistant for many years.

She was also a member of The Business Women’s Club of Baytown where she was elected President in 1976 and also served as First and Second Vice President during her membership. As President, she attended events such as the Texas Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. where she was elected to serve as Club Delegate. She hosted many events during her reign as President such as the “Bosses Dinner” and is pictured many times in The Baytown Sun for presenting donations to Elementary Schools in the Baytown area.

Later, she traveled to many places such as Alaska, Hawaii, Italy and Mexico, with Italy being one of her favorite destinations.

Her grandchildren affectionately called her “Mimi” and have fond memories of her loving and adventurous spirit that they will forever treasure. One of the loves of her life was her 13-year-old Pekingese, China Doll.

When she became ill, her daily visits of drinking coffee, eating peanut butter cookies, reminiscing with her daughter in law, Wanda, and visits from her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren made her last days happy ones.

Mimi never met a stranger and she always made sure you received a hug and a treat when you left her home. Her words of wisdom and her big smile will be missed.

Mrs. Carter is preceded in death by her husbands Ernest William Lindstrom Jr. and Dr. Robert Louis Carter.

She is survived by sons Randy Lindstrom of Baytown and Donnie Lindstrom and wife, Mary Margaret; stepson, Robert Carter and wife, Wanda of Baytown; grandchildren Gina Bloom and husband, David, Kurt Lindstrom, Macy Lou Carter, Katelin Carter, Christy Fowler and husband, Paul, Melissa Sims and husband, Jeff; and great-grandchildren Reagan, Riley and John David, Jenna and Julian, Abby, Connor and Shelby, Jackson and Anderson, and her beloved dog, China Doll.

The family would like to thank Sandra Joseph for being a devoted and loving friend, the entire staff of The Waterford at Baytown, and Faith Community Hospice in Baytown for their support, understanding and care during a difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to “A Life to Live,” a life saving organization for animals in Baytown and surrounding areas. Donations can be made online at www.adopttosave.org or received by mail at 6814 Hunters Trace Lane Baytown, Texas 77521.

The family will say goodbye to Judy in a private ceremony.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crespo & Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services, 6123 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas  77521 281-839-0700.
