Juana (Cantu) Alegria

Juana Cantu Alegria, 70, of Baytown, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at her residence.

Juana was born July 14, 1951 in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico, to parents; Adan Cantu Galvan and Cruz Corona, a former resident of Matamoros, and has resided in Baytown for the past 34 years.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, gardening, bingo, and slots.

Mrs. Alegria was preceded in death by her parents, first husband:  Ignacio Hernandez, second husband:  Manuel Alegria, granddaughter:  Joanna A. Hernandez, and stepson:  Ronnie Alegria.  She is survived by her daughter:  Iveleth Hernandez, son:  Holaff Hernandez and wife Lili, nine sisters, six brothers, grandchildren:  Yahir Hernandez, Jazmine Hernandez and their mother:  Julia A. Diaz, Cristal Villegas and family, Elizabeth Costello and family, numerous other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with prayer services at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 28, 2022, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Cedarcrest Cemetery in Baytown.  Reception will follow interment at Evergreen Clubhouse, 1530 Evergreen Road, Baytown.
