Johnny Santana, Jr., 78, of Baytown, went to be with the Lord and joined his beloved wife, Jeanne of 51 years on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston.
Johnny was born October 12, 1939 in Baytown, to parents; Juanito “Johnny” Santana, Sr. and Ruth “Cuca” Santana, and was raised in Baytown. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, where he met the love of his life, and started his family. Through his work experience, he retired as a supervisor for GCCISD, was known as a skilled auto mechanic, and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed raising horses and cattle, spending time with his family and lifelong compadres at his Wimberley home. Johnny was an extremely loving and compassionate person and proud of his family. He led by example and taught his children the importance of good work ethics and to take pride in all that they endeavored to do in their lives.
Mr. Santana was preceded in death by his wife: Jeanne Santana, parents: Juanito “Johnny” Santana, Sr. and Ruth “Cuca” Santana, sisters: Rebecca Santana and Alice Contreras. He is survived by his daughters: Kim Herrera and husband Juan, Lisa Salinas and husband Jaime, and Jean Moore and husband Michael, sons: Rodney Santana and wife Mary, Johnny Santana, III and wife Mollie, and James Santana and wife Janell, sisters: Emma Camacho and Beatrice Sorenson and husband Bobby, brother: Raynaldo G. Santana and wife Priscilla, brother-in-law: Hirum Contreras, grandchildren: Jennifer Ibarra, Rodney Santana, Jr., Dave Santana, Paul Gonzalez, Nick Gonzalez, Gino Santana, Aubrey Santana, Johnny Santana, IV, Justin Santana, Katie Santana, James Santana, Jr., Kierstin Santana, Kaelyn Santana, Joseph Franco, Kristin Tellez, Ariel Herrera, Zach Herrera, Bianca Salinas, Drake Salinas, Richard Ramon, Jonathan Ramon, and Joshua Ramon, 31 great-grandchildren, his caregiver: Alicia Ramirez, his beloved pet: Marcy, numerous other relatives, and friends.
