John Manuel Olachia

John Manuel Olachia, 56, of Baytown, passed away August 5, 2020 at his home.
He was born March 2, 1964 in Galveston to parents Elida Ortega and Manuel Olachia Elizondo. 
John was a roofer by trade and a very hard worker. He didn’t acquire much in this life but what he did have, he was always willing to share with others. He had a very loving as well as giving heart and he always saw the best in people. John always had a smile on his face. He also enjoyed fishing and having a cold beverage while the bobber swayed in the water. Family was especially important to him and being around the children brought him joy. John loved to watch movies. He could watch the same ones over and over and not tire of them. He will be dearly missed. 

That was left to cherish his memory or his wife, Sharon Olachia; sons, Jose and Raymond Flores; siblings, Angelina Olachia, Greg Olachia, Amado Olachia, Manuel Martinez Elizondo, Theodore Avalos, Patsy Avalos, and Karina Avalos, and step-mother, Cathy Elizondo; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Those who preceded him in death are his parents, mother, Elida Ortega, father, Manuel Olachia Elizondo grandparents, Manuel R. Elizondo, and Janie Olachia Elizondo; adopted parents, Natividad Olachia and Maria Sanchez, and sisters, Geneva Avalos and Delores Olachia, Jeanette Elida Avalos. 

The family will welcome friends for a visitation on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 5 to 7pm PM. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 after which at 7pm the Celebration of John’s life will begin.
