John J. Isaacks, Jr., 82, of Baytown, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at his residence.
John was born October 12, 1936 in Beeville, to parents; John J., Sr. and Mamie Sivley Isaacks. He was veteran of the Air National Guard with service during the Bay of Pigs conflict. John was the owner of Bay Vending Company that he started in the 60’s with only one bubble gum machine. He borrowed the money to fill the machine and the rest was history. In 1970, Bay Vending Company was incorporated. John was a member of Second Baptist, Baytown. He also enjoyed deer hunting with his sons and grandson Jack, fishing with Michael Douglas, racing with Aubree and driving the dogs around. In the summer, he enjoyed cooking hotdogs and hamburgers for the kids as they swam at the house. He was a devoted pool and dominoes man and loved teaching people the correct way to play Blackjack. John was very proud to be able to send both his boys to the best college in the nation, Texas A&M University. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Mr. Isaacks was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Ruby Wrinkle and Betty Jean Byers. He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Sarah Ballou Isaacks, sons: John Isaacks, III and wife Rene and Mark Isaacks and wife Bari, sisters: Esther Wrinkle, Mildred New, and Patti Collins, brother: Richard Isaacks, grandchildren: Michael and wife Veronica, Nicholas, Christopher, John, IV “Jack”, David Isaacks, Ryan and wife Alyssa, and Micheal Crenshaw, great-grandchildren: Aubree Crenshaw and Tobias Crenshaw, numerous other relatives, and friends; including his fur babies: Little Girl, Bella, and Scooter.
The family will receiver friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2018, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown, with interment following at Felps Cemetery in Thicket.
