Jimmie Atkinson

Jimmie Atkinson, 76, of Baytown, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, in Houston.

Jimmie was born October 14, 1945 in Nacogdoches, to parents; James Hardy Whittington and Claudie Pearl Johnson, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Baytown for the past 50 years.  She was a graduate of Galena Park High School, and a retired Vet Tech for Abshier-Meuth Animal Hospital.  Jimmie also enjoyed animals, plants, reading, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson:  Clayton Hilzendager.  She is survived by her husband:  Allen Wayne Atkinson, children:  James Cory Light and wife Diane Light, Sherry Christine Delaney and husband Red, and John Marcus Hilzendager, brother:  Michael Ray Whittington and wife Davon, sister:  Janice Johnson, grandchildren:  Ashley Diane Delaney, Chloe Parella, Haley Parella, and Emily Star Light, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown.
