Jimmie Lee Finley

Jimmie Lee Finley, 91, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022, in his Mont Belvieu home surrounded by family at the age of 91 years, 8 months, 8 days.

Jimmie was born January 10, 1931 in Great Bend, Kansas, to parents; Richard and Naomi Eis Finley. He was a graduate of Davis High School, attended the University of Houston, served as a MP in the Texas Air National Guard during the Korean War, and retired as a training supervisor for Arco Petrochemical.  In his retirement, he was a member of the Elks Lodge in Pasadena, Texas.  He also served as Chairman of the Board for Texas Bay Area Credit Union.  He spent his days out on the water fishing, tinkering on his many projects, tending to his garden, and being with the love of his life.  His greatest joy was being “Papa” to his 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.  Throughout his life, he often expressed his deep love and affection for the family he and his wife, Gwen, built together.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Barbara Gwendolyn Finley. Children: Becky & Bob Rice, Gary & Corene Finley, and Jan & James Erle Hutcherson.  Grandchildren: Eric & Jessica Finley, Jennifer Bryant, Kevin & Alisha Finley, Amy & Sunny Oliver, Jamie & Hector Reyes, Brittany & Michael Harmon, Taylor & Ashton Hutcherson. Great Grandchildren: Jason, Katlyn, Lily, Haden, Brooke, Korbyn, Andrew, Jackson, Kelly, Alex, Johnathon, Kate, Blaine, Tate, Abigail, Adam, and Hayes.

Family and Friends will gather to celebrate his legacy at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter. 

Feel free to wear casual attire.
