Janis Skeen Junge, 73, of Baytown, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 in Houston, Texas.
Janis was born on August 25, 1947 in Baytown, TX to Robert and Oleta Skeen. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1965 and later studied at Stephen F. Austin University and Lee College. She married Baytown resident Curtis “Lin” Junge in 1968.
Janis worked in the commercial insurance industry in Texas and Oklahoma, where she lived for 23 years. Janis was a huge Houston Astros fan, and rarely missed a game. She loved the Houston Texans, but loved JJ Watt more. She enjoyed travelling, quilting, and was a long-time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she served at hospitality.
She is survived by her daughter Kirsten and her husband, Edward Pittman of Buckeye AZ, son Kirby and wife Kenlyn of Round Rock, TX and son Kevin and wife Sharon of Ft. Worth, TX. She had four grandchildren, ENS Dane Pittman, USN, Katy Pittman, Lily Junge, and Timo Junge, and an honorary granddaughter Kandyce Lamon. She was preceded in death by Lin Junge, her husband of 52 years, her parents, her beloved stepfather Bob Beverly, and her sister, Carla Toombs.
Friends and loved ones are invited to visit with the family Friday from 5:00 – 7:30 pm at Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home, 6123 Garth Rd, Baytown. Graveside service is on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10:00 am at Cedarcrest Cemetery, 3010 Ferry Rd, Baytown.
