Janeen Menifee Bellock, age 62, passed away on August 13, 2020. Janeen was born on October 13, 1957 in McNair (Baytown), TX to parents, Lillian Blake-Menifee and Joe Palmer.
As a life- long resident of Baytown, Janeen (aka “Teesie” or “Nana”) touched the hearts of many. Janeen worked for over 28 years at Valero Energy/CST Brands in a variety of administrative/clerical roles. She graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School and attended Barclay Career School with a degree in Business Administration.
Janeen was a woman of many words. She was very outspoken and opinionated, a true straight shooter. She had an infectious smile and was a loyal friend and confidant. She enjoyed DIY home improvement projects, thrift shopping and designing programs and t-shirts for various events.
She enjoyed tending to family and could/would take charge when things went awry. Memories of which many of us share with a head shake and a smile. She loved hard. You always knew where you stood with Teesie.
By far, her proudest role was that of Nana to her grandchildren. She was always present at their games, concerts and anything that allowed her to wear her self-bedazzled active wear to show support. She took great pride in being their go-to for problems big and small. They could do no wrong. It was always a misunderstanding on someone else’s part.
She is survived by, children: Elbany N. Ramirez and Rojrick D. Menifee, both of Baytown, grandsons: Quentin and Daymon Ethan Allen; Patrik Allen (Cath), Taylor Allen, Giancarlo Frazier and Javontay Turner (Kelby), siblings: Mrs. Jennifer Marie Holmes (Leroy), Mr. Garlon Menifee, Jr, Ms. Diana Menifee (all of Baytown), TX), Ms. Denise Williams (of Blytheville, AR), and Mr. B. Sam Palmer (of Brenham, TX), aunts: Irene Hall-Peters (Harrison), Anna Michelle Henson; Uncle: Michael Blake, nieces: LaTricia Holmes, Nicole Viafara, Farrah Menifee, LaSalle Menifee, Vikkeshia Menifee, Ketisia Menifee, Charisma Menifee, nephews: Garlan Jerome Holmes, Levar Menifee, Carlos Rubin, Terrence Menifee, Roosevelt Menifee, special friends: Doris Russell, Harold Meullion, Marilyn Parks and Jim Henderson, an enormous extended family of cousins, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Janeen is preceded in death by both parents, brother, Frederick Menifee and nephew, Daymon White.
Janeen was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in McNair (Bishop Sherman Gray, Jr.) and often fellowshipped at Washington Chapel MBC in McNair (Pastor C.A. Burns).
