James Allen Southernwood, age 51, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019. He was born on February 23, 1968 in Houston TX. He was a resident of Santa Fe, Texas where he lived with his wife, Sheryl Southernwood, and their three adorable dogs.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Southernwood, two brothers, Jeffery and Sheldon Southernwood, sister, Kay Patton, his daughters, Crystal Kreusel and Connie Southernwood, his wife, Sheryl Southernwood, Sheryl's daughters, Amber Malek and Maggie Malek de Andrade, grandson, Rhett Kreusel, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Lawrence (Larry) Leon Southernwood, and grandparents, Joe and Edna Southernwood, and Henry and Bertha Niemann.
James graduated from Spring Woods Senior High School in Houston. He worked at Dril-Quip for eighteen years, was a very loyal employee to the company as a Fabrication Planner and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. James was a fun-loving guy who enjoyed gardening, spending time with friends and family, wood-working, traveling and collecting eclectic souvenirs and finding adventure. He was also a long-time member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, volunteering every year, for many years. James will be remembered as a kind, quiet, dependable, hard-working man and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Westland Baptist Church on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will begin prior to the memorial at 6:00 p.m. The family will be there to greet relatives and friends.
His burial will follow on Saturday March 30, 2019 at the Saint Bernard Cemetery in Woodsboro, Texas at 1:00 p.m.
