James Larry Gentry

James “Larry” Gentry, 70, of Baytown, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018, at Rollingbrook in Baytown.

Larry was born January 17, 1948 in Rome, Georgia, to parents; Howard Lee Gentry and Flossie Louise Lee Gentry, and has resided in Baytown since 1958.  He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School class of 1967, a retired mechanic from Gentry Automotive, and Baptist by faith.  He also enjoyed drag racing and hunting.

Mr. Gentry was preceded in death by his parents:  Howard Lee Gentry and Flossie Louise Lee Gentry and brothers:  Fred and Wayne Gentry.  He is survived by his brother:  Joe Gentry and Denise, nieces:  Leanne DeVore and husband Jim and Dana Ard and husband Tommy, nephews:  Donnie Wayne Gentry and wife Ann Marie and Joey Gentry and wife Coty, sister-in-law:  Brenda Gentry, extended family:  Gary Lowry, wife Barbara and their son: Mark. numerous great nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Rollingbrook Rehabilitation and Healthcare and Sharon and Cynthia with Compassus Hospice for their care given to Larry.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2018, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
