James Lee Eskew, 88, of Magnolia, Texas passed away from this earth to be home with his Heavenly Father, on Sunday, March 3, 2019.
James was born September 12, 1930 in Wink, Texas, to parents; Otey L. Eskew and Josephine Presley Eskew. He was a former resident of Baytown, Texas and has resided in Magnolia, Texas for the past 10 years. He was a graduate of Leverett’s Chapel High School class of 1948, attended Kilgore and Lee Colleges, was a veteran of the US Army from 1950-1952, and retired in 1991 as an engineer technician from Exxon. A longtime Christian, he served in many capacities at Missouri Street Church of Christ in Baytown and Community Christian Church in The Woodlands. He was married to Patsy Ann Crim in Kilgore, Texas on August 14, 1953. Most precious to James; being a Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Mr. Eskew was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Bernelle Eskew Harsdorff. He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Patsy Crim Eskew, sons: Gary Eskew and wife Trisha and Mike Eskew and wife Jill, grandchildren: Hillary Eskew Whitmore and husband Charles, Landon Eskew and wife Stephanie, Erik Eskew and wife Rae, and Jackie Czel, great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Whitmore, William James Whitmore, Mady Eskew, Barrett Eskew, Walker Eskew, Gavin James Eskew, and Ali Eskew, numerous other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 7, 2019, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown. Graveside services will be held at Denison Cemetery in Idabel, Oklahoma.
