Jacqueline Ann “Jackie” Garner Icet, of Cove, Texas passed away at home on Saturday, July 11, 2020. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 8, 1935, to Mr. B.J. Garner and Margaret Hicks Garner. Jackie was raised in Aransas Pass, Texas and attended the Aransas Pass school system. She graduated from Aransas Pass High in 1952, where she participated in speech, twirling, and student council. She was named “Best All-Round Girl” her senior year as well as being crowned “Miss Aransas Pass” for the years of ‘50 and 51’ during the annual Aransas Pass Shrimporee. After graduation, Jackie attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College where she was a member of the Idyllic’ Literacy Society. Her freshman year, she was elected as the

“Football Sweetheart” of the Southwest Texas State Teachers College Bobcat team of 1952. While in college, Jackie met the love of her life Carl “Joe” Icet. They married on July 3, 1954. Joe and Jackie celebrated 64 years of marriage, love, friendship, and football games before Joe passed away in December of 2018. They had four children Joseph “Joe” Nelson Icet, Jay Carl Icet, Jeffery Walton Icet and Jacque Lynne Icet. Lovingly known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Meme,” Jackie enjoyed her time with each and often traveled to partake in special milestones within their lives. She loved working in her yard, watching college football games, cheering on the Houston Rockets basketball team, shopping and attending her weekly hair and nail appointments. Jackie took great pride in keeping herself together even at 85, she will

forever be remembered for her sense of charm, class, willingness to give, and caring heart as well as her genuine interest and love for others.

Mrs. Icet is preceded in death by her father B.J. Garner, mother Margaret Hicks Belkin, step-father Frank Belkin, sister Jerry Holstein, loving husband Carl Louis “Joe” Icet, son Jeffery Walton Icet, and granddaughter Candance Michelle Icet. She is survived by her brother Jim Garner and wife Carol; sons, Joseph “Joe” Nelson Icet, Jay Carl Icet and wife Ronnette; daughter, Jacque Lynne Dudley and husband Mark; grandchildren, Celena Magee Icet Hudspeth and husband Derek; Ross Jay Icet; Keldren Byrd Icet and wife Summer; Michael Wayne Dudley and wife Alisha; Kenna Cebelle Icet Ruiz and husband Michael; Corey Joseph Icet, Jeffery Bryan Icet and wife Jenny; great-grandchildren, Layla, Jacob, Peyton, Harper, Hayes, Andi, Charli, Ryker, Wren, Zachary, Zaida and Brylee.

The family will receive family and friends for a graveside service on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., at the Icet Cemetery in Cove, Texas.
