Hilda Marie Blanchard Phillips, 81, of Baytown, passed away at her residence, Sunday, December 18, 2022, with her family by her side.
Hilda was born November 27, 1941 in Welsh, Louisiana, to parents; Aza and Celise LeJeune Blanchard. She was a former resident of Anahuac and has resided in Baytown for the past 60 years. She was a graduate of Anahuac High School in 1960 where she enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball. She was an office manager and dental assistant for the late Dr. Robert L. Carter for over 40 years. She was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Hilda was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her two daughters and four grandchildren. She gave them her optimism, faith and quiet strength. Her world revolved around her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, listening to music, dancing and loved rooting for her favorite basketball team the Houston Rockets.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Aline Brown, Jeanette Morgan, and Ruth Fondon, brothers: James Blanchard, Henry Blanchard, and Robert “Bobby” Blanchard. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years: Tommy Lynn Phillips, daughters: Janna Clayton and husband Bruce and Janci Odom and husband Matthew, sisters: Lillian Johnson and Norma Northcutt, brother: Roland Blanchard and wife Barbara, grandchildren: Tyler Clayton, Brandon Clayton, Carson Odom, and Sydnie Odom, uncle: Tilman Blanchard, brother-in-law: Larry Fondon and wife Barbara, sister-in-law: Millie Blanchard, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
