Earl Smith, 88, of Mont Belvieu, left this world for everlasting life on March 9, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family. He was Born on July 7, 1930 to parents Henry Madison Smith and Mamie Violet Smith.
Earl was a lifelong resident of Mont Belvieu and was a graduate of the Barbers Hill Class of ’48. He was a devout family man and took great joy from spending time with them all, but especially the great grand babies. He was a Methodist by faith and knew the love of Jesus Christ to be true and pure. Earl enjoyed driving heavy machinery, one of his favorites were rice trucks. As a younger man he enjoyed the outdoors and all that it had to offer, from fishing to hunting and so much more. But as he got older those joys became less and he found that he enjoyed going on trips to the casinos with his loving wife and playing with the grand dog, Tink. Earl will be missed my many, but the memories created will not diminish, and he will forever live on in our hearts.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Ben Smith. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce Edgley Smith; Daughters, Katrina Smith, and Gayle Harmon, husband Rick; grandsons, Chad Harmon, and Michael Harmon and wife Brittany; great grandchildren, Alexander McMorrow, Kaleb Harmon, Makenzi Harmon, Korbyn Harmon, Blaine Harmon and Tate Harmon; and to ol’ Faithful, Cissy Coon.
