Gordon E. “Gordy” Howard, 64, of Baytown, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at his residence.
Gordy was born September 1, 1954 in La Mesa, California, to parents; Kenneth and Mary Sue Grimes Howard, and has resided in Baytown since 1978. He was a graduate of the Copperas Cove High school, a veteran of the US Navy serving with the SeaBees, member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, a retired journeyman electrician from Exxon-Mobil after 30 years of employment, and a former volunteer for the Baytown Special Olympics. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and grandchildren, and remembered as a man of many talents.
Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his father: Kenneth Howard, mother: Mary sue Grimes Roberts, and mother-in-law: Sylvia Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Vivian Taylor Howard, sons: Nathan Lee Howard and wife Lori and Jeffrey Ryan Howard and wife Jennifer, sister: SueAnn Buratowski and husband John, brother: Ricky Howard and wife Meraflor, father-in-law: Frank Taylor and wife Trena, brother-in-law: Mike Taylor, grandchildren: Kylee, Brant, Garren, Grasen, Kenah, Jeffrey, Jr., and Cheyenne Turner, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the Old River Baptist Church in Old River. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Old River Baptist Church at 12948 FM 1409, Dayton, TX 77535.
