Frances Salazar Estrada, 81, of Baytown, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018, with her loving family at her side, at Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital. She was born June 4, 1936, in Baytown, to Antonio Salazar and Petra D’Avalos Salazar. Mrs. Estrada attended local schools and received her GED. She was a valued and passionate clerk at the U. S. Postal office in Baytown until her retirement after thirty-three years.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and loyal friend, Mrs. Estrada was known for her wonderful personality. She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family, enjoyed shopping, was a dedicated fan of Mexican Novellas, loved Friday night dinner with the “Golden Girls,” and loved to dance until she no longer could.
Mrs. Estrada was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Petra Salazar; husband, Tamesado J “TJ” Estrada; her son, Eddie Estrada; sister, Lucy Martinez; brothers, Genaro Salazar Sr., Augustine “Gus” Salazar, and Guadalupe Salazar. She is survived by her daughter, Anna and husband, Abel Coy; her son, Albert Estrada; Grandchildren, Allison Coy, Adam Coy, Eric Estrada, Natalie Alonso, Selene Estrada, Jacob Tanner; brothers, Roberto Salazar and wife, Alicia, and Antonio Salazar Jr.; sister, Rosemary Ramirez; Seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 22, 2018, from 5 – 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, with Reverend Terrance Brinkman, S. T. D. as celebrant. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Adam Coy, Eric Estrada, Jacob Tanner, Timothy Barrientes, Genaro Salazar, Jr. and Chris Salazar.
