Etta Winningham Sexton, 86, of Baytown, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019, in Baytown.
Etta was born June 15, 1932 in Baytown, to parents; Estus L. and Mary M. Dillon Winningham, and was a lifelong resident of Baytown. She was a graduate of Cedar Bayou High School, a retired dietician supervisor for Gulf Coast Hospital, and a life long member of Garth Road Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She also enjoyed church activities, gardening, quilting, garage sales, puzzles of all kinds, and collecting cow decorations.
Mrs. Sexton was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years William Pinkney Sexton; parents; son; William P. Sexton, Jr. “Jr.”; grandson, Jonathan Sexton; great-grandson, Nolan Bilnoski; brothers, Aubrey and Carl Winningham; sisters, Jeanette Winningham, Helen Pearl Winningham, and Francis Petree. She is survived by her daughter; Darlene Fehring and husband Bobby, son; William Leon Sexton and wife Cherrie, sister; Dorothy Steward and husband Jack, grandchildren; Robert Fehring, Shanacey Knight, Heather Butler, Meagan Burleigh, Kathryn Scott, Danielle Sexton, and Mark Sexton, great-grandchildren; Jayden, Connor, and Lincoln Knight, Kaylee, Justin and Tyler Butler, Kaydence Wheeler, Kort Burleigh, Gavin and Cody Scott, and Garrett Bilnoski, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, at the Garth Road Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Garth Road Baptist Church with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
