Ethel Odelia Russell Roberts

Ethel Odelia Russell Roberts, 89, of Baytown, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at home.

Ethel was born June 10, 1932 in College Station, Texas to parents Joe and Jesse J. Carrol Russell.  She graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1950.   Her mother, Jesse, worked at HEB and introduced her to the love of her life, Bobby P. Roberts, who also worked at HEB.  They were married on May 24, 1951.  She attended Del Mar College and went to work at Southwestern Bell in Corpus Christi.

She spent many years on a small ranch outside of Laneville, Texas with her husband, Bobby, until they moved to Baytown, Texas seven years ago.  A retired administrator for AT&T and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Ethel also held memberships in the Daughter of the American Revolution, Daughter of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the Confederacy and Beta Sigma Fi.

Ethel enjoyed cooking, sharing recipes and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.   Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Bobby P. Roberts, Sr.; her brother, Charles Russell; her sister, Edna Myers; and her granddaughter, Tiffannie Fontegrossi.

She is survived by her son, Bobby P. Roberts, Jr. and wife Florence “Sam” Roberts; grandchildren:  Tara Roberts, Sabrena Ballard, Trampus Stinger; great grandchildren:  Dino, Robby, Debbie Fontegrossi; Julius, Blom, Aaron Ratliff; Cheyenne Baty as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday, November 8 at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown.  Graveside services will be at College Station City Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
