Dorothy June Speights Foster, 85, of Pasadena, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 after an acute attack of a long-suffered lung disorder. Affectionately called "Little Mother" by her husband, "June Bug" or "June" by others, and "Momma", "Aunt Bug" or "Nanny June" by some.
She was born February 8, 1932 in Mexia, Texas, to parents; Wesley De Witt Speight and Elizabeth Peyton Brazeal Speights, and was a resident of Pasadena for more than 66 years. She graduated Grossmont High School, in Lemon Grove, California. Among business schools she attended San Jacinto College and earned her Medical Technologist Certificate. She retired from Memorial Hermann Hospital Systems as a laboratory supervisor with over 50 years service. A member of Memorial Baptist Church, she enjoyed softball, bowling, and watching her Astros.
June was preceded in death by her parents, husband Buford H. Foster, and brothers: Alvie Louis Speights, Essley Hughie Speights, Wesley Dewey Speights, and Robert Hayden Speights. She is survived by her sons: Arlan Lee Foster and Steven Louis Foster and wife Debbie, sister: Alma Lois Gallery, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at the Grandview Memorial Park in Pasadena with services concluding thereafter.
