Dorothy Jean Jackson Cope, 81, of Baytown, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018, at her residence.
Jean was born January 26, 1937 in Carbon, Texas, to parents Robert Eugene and Lillie Rozell Lovell Jackson, and has resided in Baytown since 1971. She attended Monahans High School in Monahans, Texas, was a homemaker, and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed reading, watching birds, travel, bluegrass festivals, and in her younger days riding motorcycles.
Mrs. Cope was preceded in death by her parents, first husband and father of her children, Doyle Norman, husband, Cecil Cope, sister, Arnell Jackson, and daughters-in-law, Lisa Norman and Wanda Norman. She is survived by her sons, David Norman and wife Donna, Gary Norman and wife Nan, Stephen Norman and Kim Spano, grandchildren, David Norman, Jr. and wife Carla, Robert Norman and wife Jennifer, and Magan Norman, great-grandchildren, Kerstyn Norman, Lillie Norman, Caleigh Norman, Conner Norman, and Jayden Norman, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m., Friday, November 23, 2018, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown, Texas. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Sterling-White Cemetery in Highlands, Texas.
