Doris Daniels

Doris Jean Daniels (Dee Dee), 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 20, 2021.  Doris Jean was born in Mercedes, Texas on October 11, 1932.  She was the youngest of 6 children.  After growing up in the Rio Grande Valley, Doris married the love of her life Joseph Harold (Chow) Daniels in Liberty, TX.  They made their permanent home in Baytown, TX.  They were married for 51 years and had three children.

Doris worked as a Bank Teller at Citizens National Bank and Trust Company when she first came to Baytown.  She graduated from Lee College in 1970 and went on to graduate from Lamar University in December 1972.  Doris taught 5th grade in the Goose Creek Independent School District at Alamo Elementary for 20 years.  Doris was a long-time member of Memorial Baptist Church.  She was also a member of the Plumwood-Eva Maude Garden Club.  Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  She loved spending time with her family and friends.  She also enjoyed baking, reading, playing cards and dominoes.  In her later years she became part of a group of ladies whom she loved dearly that met every Friday for game day.  Doris will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Harold Daniels, parents David Tristum and Electra McManus Campbell, three sisters Alice Campbell, Lottie Hoffman, Maurine Horton, two brothers David Campbell, Jr. and Charles Campbell.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Donald and Deborah Daniels, daughter and son-in-law Debra and Michael Godfrey, son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Bonnie Daniels; grandchildren Brittney Rasmussen and husband Adam, Stephanie Daniels and fiancé Matt Howard, Jonathan Daniels and girlfriend Courtney Farley, Katheryn Daniels and fiancé Hector Reynaga; and great grandchild Henrik Michael Rasmussen.
